Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how GRP Chicago ("GRP," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you visit our website, create an account, or use any of our services (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you consent to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide. Account details (name, email, phone, service address), payment information (processed by our payment provider — we do not store full card numbers), repair-job details, photos and videos you upload, messages and consultation notes, and any other content you submit.
Information collected automatically. Device and browser information, IP address, pages viewed, referring URLs, timestamps, approximate location derived from IP, and similar diagnostic and analytics data, collected via cookies, local storage, and similar technologies.
Information from third parties. Payment confirmations from our payment processor and, where applicable, information from independent contractors in the Association network about completed jobs.
2. How We Use Information
We use your information to: (a) operate, maintain, and improve the Services; (b) create and manage your account; (c) prepare and deliver custom DIY guides and virtual consultations; (d) process payments and issue receipts; (e) match you with independent contractors in the Association network; (f) communicate with you about your account, transactions, support requests, and (with your consent or as permitted by law) marketing; (g) detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security incidents; (h) comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. Legal Bases (where applicable)
Where required by law, we rely on the following legal bases to process your personal information: performance of a contract, your consent, our legitimate interests (such as improving the Services and securing our platform), and compliance with legal obligations.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
- Service providers. Vendors that host our infrastructure, process payments, send emails, store files, and provide analytics — under contracts requiring them to safeguard your data.
- Independent contractors. When you book through the Association network, we share the job details, address, and contact information necessary for the contractor to perform the work.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or property.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
- With your consent. Any other sharing you authorize.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure traffic, and improve the Services. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling cookies may limit functionality.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Job photos and videos may be retained in de-identified form for training and quality-improvement purposes.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Illinois residents have rights under applicable Illinois privacy and biometric laws. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sales" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined). To exercise any right, contact us through our website; we may need to verify your identity before responding.
9. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Third-Party Sites
The Services may link to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties; review their policies before providing information.
11. International Users
The Services are operated from the United States. If you access them from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S., which may not provide the same level of data protection as your jurisdiction.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date and, where required, notified to you by email.
